KUGU EOS: Smart energy optimization.

KUGU EOS (Energy Optimization System) is the intelligent control system for optimising heating systems. It dynamically adjusts the energy supply based on a digital building model, actual usage patterns and current weather forecasts. In this way, consumption and CO₂ emissions are reduced without the need for lengthy and expensive investments in the building substance.

KUGU’s Unique Digital Building Twin

Every building is different. Its optimisation should be just as individual.That is why KUGU uses smart AI to create a digital building twin that reflects the specific energy characteristics of each property and provides the foundation for automated heating system control.

01: Initial Collection of Building Data

In the first step, the core data of the building and heating system is recorded — including year of construction, refurbishments, building type, windows, façade areas and orientation, as well as the model, manufacturer and age of the heating system.

02: Consumption and Metering Data Collection

Over a short period of just a few days, KUGU records relevant measurement data such as supply and return temperatures, volume flow and heating output. At the same time, external influencing factors such as tenant preferences and weather conditions are analysed in relation to heating behaviour.

03: Calibration of the Digital Twin

Using AI, KUGU creates the digital twin of the building and heating system. It is calibrated as the basis for optimisation by identifying how the heating behaviour can best be explained in response to the collected influencing factors.

Demand-Based Control Instead of a Static Heating Curve.

With the new Dynamic Electricity Pricing mode, KUGU EOS can include variable electricity costs in the optimisation process in addition to the building model, weather forecasts and user preferences.The optimisation is based on forecast wholesale electricity prices, for example from EPEX Spot. Depending on the objective, the weighting between energy efficiency and electricity costs can be flexibly adjusted.

How does the KUGU savings guarantee work and what are the conditions?

Our savings guarantee means: We guarantee at least 12% heating energy savings compared to conventional operation. The basis is a stable state of use of the building, without fundamental changes in use or serious hydraulic deficiencies. If, for example, a building has not been reconciled at all, we will point this out in advance. The calculation is made annually compared to the previous year, including climate adjustment. We would be happy to provide you with a transparent contract model with all conditions.

What are the technical requirements and how can they be controlled?

Our hardware is connected to the existing heating system — via existing interfaces or external sensors, so that older systems can also be integrated. Control is convenient via the KUGU portal: You can switch optimization on or off at any time, adjust individual parameters such as hot water temperature or hysteresis, and either completely automate or manually control operation. We simply adjust parameters within the existing control logic without changing the basic concept

How are data protection and security ensured?

We process all data exclusively in Germany, in certified data centers in accordance with the highest security standards. As a rule, no personal data is collected. The connection between our hardware and our IT infrastructure is encrypted, and should communication fail, the system automatically continues in its original operation.

Is there support during implementation and ongoing operation?

Yes! During onboarding, we provide a clear system handover, including training for janitors, facility management or other service providers. Our support team and a ticket system are available to you in the company. In addition, your service providers can have direct access via a role concept.
