Engelmann Sensor publishes expert interviews with Christopher von Gumppenberg

Berlin, June 19, 2025 — The optimization of heating and cooling systems offers enormous potential for consumption transparency, efficient use of heat and CO₂ savings: Up to 40 percent of a building's energy consumption can thus be saved. To make use of this opportunity, KUGU Home GmbH and Engelmann Sensor GmbH have been working closely together for years to turn boiler rooms into intelligent interfaces for greater energy efficiency. KUGU offers a smart energy optimization service that analyses, controls and optimizes energy processes in buildings in real time. As a reliable partner, Engelmann Sensor GmbH has been providing the necessary data basis with its heat and cooling meters for years.

Measurement data as the basis for smart control

Engelmann's measurement technology serves KUGU customers throughout Germany as a data source for digital boiler rooms, intelligent energy monitoring and automated control. Together, the companies have created an ecosystem that combines hardware, software and practical knowledge.

“With Engelmann, we are working with a partner who understands our requirements both technically and operationally and knows what is important when digitizing existing buildings,” says Christopher von Gumppenberg, managing director and co-founder of KUGU. “Sustainability requires reliability. Control can only work if data is correct. ”

Digitalization is not an end in itself at KUGU. The intelligent products help housing companies to invest specifically where the leverage is greatest. They supplement energy-related renovations with data-based analysis, make consumption visible and identify concrete options for action.

“We are currently seeing fundamental changes in building and infrastructure requirements. This requires reliable technology that thinks along the way,” adds Michael Keuthen, CEO of Engelmann Sensor GmbH. “In partnership with KUGU, we combine our strengths: We provide precise measurement data, and KUGU turns it into intelligent control. In this way, we create solutions together that work in everyday life and make a measurable contribution to CO₂ reduction. ”

A common goal: sustainability that works

The partnership between Engelmann and KUGU goes beyond pure technology transfer. Both companies share the desire to deliver digital solutions that work in reality. The focus is on sustainability, scalability and usability.

As part of the collaboration, a series of expert interviews with Christopher von Gumppenberg has now been conducted, aimed at experts from the housing industry and the energy sector. In the seven topic-specific videos published by Engelmann Sensor via YouTube, is about decarbonization in existing buildings, the role of the digital boiler room and the importance of reliable data.
